Henry Daniel, Chaplain
Democratic Incumbent Henry Daniel has served as Ward 2 Alderman for the since 2000. Alderman Daniel is a lifelong resident of Kosciusko and is the longest serving black official for the City of Kosciusko. He is a graduate of Tipton Street high School and attended Jackson State University. He and his wife, Rosie, have been married for fifty-two years and are the parents of Marcus, Roshanda, Gwest, and Tearra. They have five grandchildren.
He has been employed by the Attala County School District at the Kosciusko-Attala Career Technical Center for twenty-six years. Alderman Daniel is an active member of Plantation M.B. Church, a member of the NAACP, Attala County Democratic Executive Committee, Attala County Coordinator for U.S. Congressman Bennie Thompson, and former Senator Barbara Blackmon, Advisory Committee member for the Oprah Winfrey Boys and Girls Club, Mississippi Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials Board of Directors, Mississippi Municipal League Certified Professional Official, C.H.I.L.D. Ahead Project Founder and Chairman (since 1982) and current member of Lone Star Lodge #51. He is a former member of the Mississippi Municipal League’s Mayor’s Youth Council and Past Master of Lone Star Lodge #51.
